So close but not lost...

Morgan & I have traveled far and wide in the pursuit of education. From Chicago to Dallas we anticipate a new atmosphere this summer as we move. Despite changes and constant transitions splurge with what life has given you & be mindful of how extraordinary God is with how he works with ordinary us...

So, I’m going through all my old magazines pulling recipes from my copies of Real Simple and Martha Stewart.  It’s been one of those weeks where you find yourself at Friday and wonder “How did I survive the week?”  I think just with all the chaos right now - the last thing that I wanted to deal with was a messy living room.  The rest of the house, whatever - but I want one room that is clean or on it’s way to being clean.  Well, I did the kitchen too, but that doesn’t really count does it?  So, I have two big stacks.  One with the magazines and One with old CD’s.  While ripping out recipes for our cookbook, I was loading up those CD’s and catching up on my shows all in my pajamas.  The only way to effectively organize life right? :)  So, in my last magazine from November 2011 of Real Simple. I came upon the thoughts section for 11/11 and I realized that despite this crazy week - I need to be thankful for all that I have.  The piles will still be here when Morgan gets home from work (hopefully soon!!), the craziness at the office will still be there when I get there on Monday and the decisions for the next few months will still be unanswered until May, the kids at church will still be hurting, and my body is still changing as I train for this Sprint Triathlon… but God is still here in each of these things and by grace, I hope.  Enjoy the little bit of Chesterton below…

You say grace before meals.

All right.

But I say grace before the play and the opera.

And grace before the concert and pantomime.

And grace before I open a book.

And grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing;

And grace before I dip the pen in the ink

— G.K. Chesterton, From an Early Notebook (Mid 1890’s)
